The Administrative Support Specialist position provides significant specialized program and administrative support to the Department of Campus Activities’ Student Involvement Unit. The Administrative Support Specialist for the DCA Student Involvement Unit reports to the Assistant Director for Business Operations. As part of the Programming and Student Involvement Unit, this position serves as the primary support for LMP, Clubs & Orgs, Communications, and SGA. This position is responsible for tracking student involvement budgets and utilizing the proper procurement process for supplies. This position will collaborate on the development and maintenance of our department’s Online Student Worker Training under the direction of the Assistant Director for Business Operations.
Basic necessary skills required include: A working knowledge of various computer software including Canvas, Banner, Engage, Catamart, Chrome River, and Microsoft Office Suite; exemplary organizational skills with a strong emphasis on detail; excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills; outstanding customer service skills; ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines; ability to relate well to students and others; and the ability to prioritize workload according to volume, urgency, etc. Experience working with multiple professional staff as well as strong leadership skills are also useful. Occasional evening and weekend work is required.Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.Preferred Qualifications:
