Course name: BUAD 101A – Introduction to Business

Course description: Introduction of basic business concepts such as institutional setting, organizational structures, decision making, accounting, finance, labor relations, management, marketing and government-business relations. No credit for BUAD majors, except as departmental elective if taken before becoming a BUAD major.

Course name: BUAD 231 – Principles of Marketing

Course description: Explores the role of marketing in the free enterprise system. Defines marketing and its relationship to society. Reviews the controllable elements of the marketing mix: product, place, promotion, and price. Explains marketing concepts and terminology. Applies terminology and concepts to real world problems. Covers basic analytic skills needed to solve marketing problems.

Contingency: This course may be cancelled, or additional sections of this course may be offered pending student enrollment.

In addition to teaching, there is an expectation for scholarship and service commensurate with the assignment.

Required Qualifications:

  • MBA or master’s in a business field.
  • Prior experience teaching the stated course(s) or related subject(s).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in a Business discipline.
