THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN KNOXVILLE, TN.

JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, this position coordinates this position works with the IM Residency Program Director, Transitional Year Program Director and Hematology/Oncology Program Director to ensure all ACGME guidelines are followed and that ACGME annual updates are implemented.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

    Develops, refines, and administers interviewing process including screening, evaluating, assistance with ranking all Internal Medicine and Transitional Year applicants. Develops and conducts special screening process for international medical graduate applications, direct final ranking process.Represents UTMC and all residency programs offered at various residency fairs and meetings across the U.S.Develops, directs and monitors all administrative aspects of residency review regarding ACGME accreditation guidelines of both the Internal Medicine and Transitional Year programs.Researches, analyzes, and advises the Program Directors and associated professional staff on short and long range planning, relay staff management issues relative to both programs.Oversees the administration and assist proctor for yearly in-training exam in Internal Medicine.Prepares and assists Program Director with evaluation before submission to the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).Supervises evaluation process and arrange residency review quarterly meetings for both programs. Oversees and monitors data management with regard to resident schedule and Medicare reimbursement.Performs other related job duties as assigned.


Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of office experience; OR Master’s Degree; OR a combination of related education and work experience to equal nine (9) years.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    Ability to demonstrate interpersonal skills and work as a team member relating effectively with students, faculty, residents, and various staff members.Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing.Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and document and maintain strict confidentiality in all applicable matters.Ability to always use professionalism and discretion.Ability to effectively make brief, focused, and well-organized oral and written presentations.Ability to multi-task and shift priorities.Ability to initiate solutions to operational problems and implement operational changes.Ability to work and think independently, take initiative, and provide detail-oriented work.
 

WORK SCHEDULEThis position may be occasionally required to work evenings and weekends. May require occasional overnight travel.
