Job Description Summary

This position provides a high level of administrative support to the Office of the Dean requiring sound judgement and initiative. Under the direction of the Assistant Dean, manages multiple projects and competing priorities with extensive follow-up, key leadership meetings, budgetary processing and tracking, complex search initiative support for the Dean’s leadership team, consultant and visitor plans, faculty award nomination processes and special project follow-up. In collaboration with the Dean’s Office Team and other SON teams, assists with extensive communications and presentation support for the Dean; develops and designs complex Power Point presentations including researching information and statistics, drafting content and producing highly complex and intensive presentations; drafts and edits correspondence. Serves as secondary support for the Dean’s Executive Assistant during extended absences and on a daily basis when needed necessitating understanding of day-to-day activities and priorities. In the Administrative Coordinator’s absence, helps manage the front desk of the Dean’s Office – triages calls, and visitors’ needs and provides a high level of customer service.

Serves as secondary support for the Dean’s Executive Assistant during extended absences and on a daily basis when needed necessitating understanding of day-to-day activities and priorities. Targeted Pay Range: $43,919 - $52,000

This Targeted Pay Range is only applicable to this job posting. All salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree required. Progressively responsible administrative `, preferably working with key executives or administrators in higher education. Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. Strong communication skills including written and oral communications. Demonstrated ability to work independently and to function effectively in a team-oriented executive support environment. Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality, tact and diplomacy. The successful candidate must have strong initiative and problem solving skills to ensure effective follow-up and results. Strong PC skills with advanced proficiency in MS Office [Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access], the Internet and the willingness to learn new software applications. Ability to juggle numerous tasks and maintain deadlines while handling multiple requests. Ability to type at least 50wpm.
