Position Description:
This position is under the general supervision of the Director of the Master of Engineering (MENG) program, provide support for the administrative aspects of the program specific to admissions, student enrollment and records management. Incumbents' responsibility includes counseling through the admissions stage of the program. Extensive academic counseling of students across all stages of the program once a student has inquired about the program. Evaluate applicants (approximately 100+ applications) for admission to the MENG Program, including review candidates' application packages, communicate with applicants for potential admission, analyze and present written recommendations for each application. Monitor applicants' and admitted students' progress in terms of preparing for the MENG program. Close interactions with academic units and its faculty to facilitate student progress and achievement in the program. General student affairs management for a cohort of up to 50+ students. Assist in the management of special events including admission and recruiting events, information sessions, orientation and graduation. Advise and work with Associate Dean, faculty and students on policies and procedures pertaining to course of study, progress within the program, advancement to candidacy, dismissals, and degree requirements. Planning, organizing and presenting annual graduate student orientation sessions in the Fall. Serve as a program representative at corporate and university education fairs. Provide information to prospective applicants regarding the program's suitability to their needs. Marketing of the program to primary industry partners. Ability to speak in a public forum to small and large groups. Create and maintain student records. Assist in the maintenance of the School's admissions databases. Evaluate domestic and foreign transcripts and credentials. Maintain student files for purpose of record keeping and admissions evaluations. Counsel applicants on, enrollment and outlining options for course of action. Assist with enrollment and scheduling. Liaison with Graduate Division, the Registrar, UCLA Extension, UCLA Summer Session specific to, registration and billing. Create information flyers. Assist with the maintenance of the program WebPages.
Occasional weekend and evening hours required for education fairs, students information sessions, Commencement weekend. Some Travel required.

In 15 of the 16 medical specialty areas examined, UCLA Medical Center ranked in the top 20.
