Position Summary
Dominican University, located in San Rafael, CA, is seeking enthusiastic and committed Clinical Instructors to work as members of a strong nursing faculty team. Reporting to the Nursing Associate Dean, Clinical Instructors will work part-time with cohorts of 6-10 students in varied clinical agencies throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Clinical Instructors are considered Dominican adjunct faculty and are members of SEIU.


Responsibilities
  • Complete four unit teaching assignments in undergraduate level nursing courses focused on application of theoretical content within clinical practice settings
  • Assist nursing staff to prepare students for clinical agency rotations through completion of selected agency onboarding requirements
  • Orient students to clinical agencies at start of the clinical semester
  • Utilize course syllabus to oversee clinical activities, mentor, and advise 6-10 students in clinical setting(s) for up to 90 hours per semester
  • Regularly communicate with students
  • Communicate and collaborate with theory course faculty, Nursing Assistant Director and Nursing Associate Dean
  • Complete clinical evaluations at midterm and end of semester

  • Maternal-Newborn and Women’s Health Nursing
  • Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing
  • Leadership and Nursing Care Management

  • Community Health Nursing
  • Health Assessment Across the Lifespan (Lab)
  • Nursing Fundamentals (Lab)
  • Nursing Research & Senior Thesis

  • Required Qualifications
  • BSN or higher (applicants with ADN should contact the Nursing Assistant Director)
  • A minimum of 1 year of patient care experience in the subject area

  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in nursing (MSN)
