School of Behavioral & Social Sciences
St. Edward's University of Austin, Texas invites applications for the position of Business Manager for the School of Behavioral & Social Sciences. The Business Manager will report directly to the Dean to provide administrative and financial support for all the departments within the school. The Business Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day business support of the School to include financial reporting and transactions, collaborating with department chairs, faculty, and HR, for onboarding and payroll functions for faculty, staff, and student employees.
For consideration, High school diploma is required; . Bachelor's degree preferred with at least one year of administrative experience or an equivalent combination of college coursework and directly related experience. Experience in a higher education institution is preferred. Excellent communication skills, ability to coordinate workloads, and manage multiple and competing priorities. Collaborative spirit. Time management and organizational skills to complete assigned tasks without supervision. High level skills and ability to use Microsoft Office and Google Apps suites of software, as well as comfort and familiarity with software applications used in administrative support and office management required. Training on specific software and operations will be available. Attention to detail and timeliness of high-quality task completion.
Essential Responsibilities Include:
- Coordinates the business and financial operations for the School of Behavioral & Social Sciences. Maintains up to date financial records and performs accounting duties related to transactions associated with budgets assigned or managed by the Dean of Behavioral and Social Sciences.
- Manage daily financial activities of all School of Behavioral & Social Sciences to include the following:
- Processes business transactions for the School according to university policy
- Collaborates with Dean to maintain the budget for the School
- Coordinates with Human Resources regarding hiring and onboarding new employees in the School.
- Orders department supplies, equipment, etc.
- Assists with department events
- Answer questions from faculty and students regarding School operations
- Other duties as assigned.
