General Description:

The Admissions Recruiter, CATC is responsible for all admissions and enrollment functions for the academic and workforce development programs at the new Career Advanced Technology Center (CATC) for Community College of Philadelphia. The admissions recruiter will participate in outside activities for events, high schools and in the community as needed. The admissions recruiter will be responsible for leading all student outreach initiatives by assisting the Executive Director with developing and implementing strategies that serve to bridge student academic needs and goals with programs offered at the CATC, which will focus on Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. This position requires an outgoing, customer service-centered person who conducts individual appointments, outreach to prospective students, coordinates outreach activities with secondary schools, city and community agencies, in addition to facilitating large and small group presentations (onsite, offsite and remotely). This position will require participation in recruitment events on evenings and weekends to help build the reputation of the CATC and provide detailed information about academic opportunities, scholarship, financial aid and campus life.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Conduct outbound calls to prospective students via phone and virtually (when applicable) to provide detailed information about the programs at CATC.

  • Assist prospective students with registering for all CATC program offerings.

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for high schools throughout the City and schedule site visits with CTE high schools and programs.

  • Call and follow-up with new leads and provide prospective students with appropriate and timely information to move from inquiry to applicant to enrollment.

  • · Establish a rapport with prospective students and help them complete career assessments to learn about their interests, backgrounds, challenges and goals to guide them through the recruitment process.

  • Keep track of student progress and help with student retention when applicable.

  • Present highly effective and inspirational virtual and in-person presentations and tours as well as follow-up with prospective students who participate in these sessions which will include but not be limited to the use of Zoom, phone, email, video email, and/or text.

  • Analyze and collect data that will help to aid in making data-driven decisions to increase recruitment outcomes.

  • Generate enrollments by assisting students throughout the registration process.

  • Complete necessary administrative functions related to data management and written communications by inputting and updating all communications in a timely manner.

  • When appropriate, collaborate and refer students to financial aid or specialized teams (Single Stop, military services, disability services, etc.).

  • Always represent Community College of Philadelphia ethically and professionally.

  • Participate in continuous training, personal growth and development opportunities to strengthen your skills as an admissions recruiter for all CATC programs.

  • Perform assigned duties in a manner consistent with the mission, goals, and core values of the College.

  • Maintain sensitivity, understanding and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological and ethnic backgrounds.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Any and all degrees must be from a recognized institutional accreditor.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in higher education admissions recruitment, sales, marketing or other recruitment experience required.

  • Must have exceptional customer service skills, the ability to connect with people, the desire for a challenge, a passion to learn and grow every day and a can-do attitude.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills; confidence speaking in small/large groups and with people from diverse backgrounds; and comfort engaging in sales-oriented communication required.

  • Good problem-solving, time management and organizational skills.

  • Very strong phone and computer skills, including typing and data entry.

  • Ability to present in person and virtually and provide program overviews in a factual, ethical and compliant manner to prospective students.

  • Flexible and willing to advance skills to meet the demands of the job and the education market changes as needed.

  • Must be available to work nights and weekends based on business needs and to serve working adults.

  • Ability to be flexible to work full-remote, on-site, or in a hybrid model as needed.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and the drive to meet and exceed goals.

  • The successful candidate will be part of a team of people who are passionate about helping and inspiring students to act on their career and educational goals.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and familiarity with creative presentation software, such as Prezi, and integrated management software systems required.

  • Valid driver’s license and access to personal vehicle required and ability to drive and utilize the college recruitment van required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a higher education setting with undergraduates in a recruitment/outreach, admissions, financial aid, and/or student success related capacity preferred.

  • Knowledge of trends in college admission and understanding of the admission process with a focus on career and technical education programs preferred.

  • Prior experience recruiting students for career and technical education programs and career programs
