Washington State University:

Founded in 1890 in Pullman, WSU is the state of Washington’s land-grant institution and one of the country’s top public research universities. WSU has an enrollment of over 31,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students and approximately 6,300 faculty and staff at its five campuses (Pullman, Spokane, Tri-Cities, Vancouver, and Everett), and online through its Global Campus. Unlike most multi-campus systems, WSU operates as an integrated university; thus, regardless of campus location, all MISE faculty are full members of the MISE department. The business curricula at all five campuses are accredited as one curriculum by the AACSB (AACSB accreditation was renewed for five years in 2019).

WSU is a premier research institution, ranked as a “very high research activity” (R1) by the Carnegie Foundation, with ambitions to grow. The university is currently pursuing its goal of becoming one of the nation’s top 25 public research universities by 2030 through its “Drive to 25” or “D25” initiative. D25 is the University’s highest strategic priority.

Pullman, WA:

Pullman is located in the rolling hills of the scenic Palouse region of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho and is ranked as one of the best cities to live in Washington State. Pullman is eight miles from Moscow, Idaho, home to the University of Idaho, and is served by the Pullman-Moscow Regional Airport which provides daily direct flights to Seattle. Pullman is a quintessential college town offering a blend of sports and entertainment, including the National Lentil Festival, an active farmer’s market, and award-winning wineries and breweries. Pullman enjoys a low crime rate, excellent public schools, a mild climate, and close proximity to a variety of outdoor recreational opportunities in and around the rivers, lakes, and mountains of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho (https://www.visit-pullman.com/; https://visitmoscowid.com/).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • We are open to a variety of research areas and methodologies that complement our current capabilities. We are particularly interested in scholars whose work aligns with that of existing research faculty.

  • An interest in research and/or teaching that advances equity, diversity, and inclusion of historically underrepresented communities and aligns with WSU’s strategic plan is especially welcome.

  • Candidates should be capable of teaching a variety of undergraduate and graduate-level Management courses in face-to-face and online settings, with the likely expectation of teaching an undergraduate course in general business as part of the college’s “Next Carson Coug” curriculum.
