Greenblatt, M.D. Library of the Augusta University in Augusta seeks a service-focused, innovative, and collaborative librarian to support health sciences education, research and patient care. The primary focus of this full-time, non-tenure track faculty position is to provide embedded library services to the Dental College of Georgia and Georgia Cancer Center faculty, students and staff. The Dental Medicine and Cancer Librarian will work in a team based environment to coordinate providing library services to the Health Sciences Campus in addition to serving the Dental College of Georgia and the Georgia Cancer Center.Responsibilities The Dental Medicine and Cancer Librarian will serve as the embedded librarian to the Dental College of Georgia and the Georgia Cancer Center. This positon will also provide support to academic units on the Health Sciences Campus as a collaborative team member. The Dental Medicine and Cancer Center Librarian will also serve on library and institutional committees as a faculty member.The Dental Medicine and Cancer Librarian is expected to be active professionally in local, regional, and national professional associations. The Dental Medicine and Cancer Librarian will be expected to actively participate in scholarship for the profession.The duties include, but are not limited to:

- Collaborate with library faculty to support instruction, online education, and emerging instructional technologyDeliver customized instruction including development of online tutorials and resources in addition to providing face to face instruction Provide specialized research services including in-depth consultations, mediated database searching, finding relevant resources, and developing efficient search strategiesCollaborate with faculty and colleagues to facilitate the discovery process by analysis of multiple resources to address specific research topicsUse knowledge of information resources and discovery tools to meet the needs of interdisciplinary research teams Apply research tools to the discovery process including data management principles, knowledge of research methodologies, and ability to evaluate research findings Collaborate with faculty in selecting collection materials, reviewing library holdings, and contributing to accreditation reports for assigned disciplines.Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the university community.Contribute to library and university initiatives through service at the university, school, departmental, and professional level.Participate in relevant professional development opportunities to maintain specialized knowledge of the library’s databases and resourcesEstablish a record of scholarship to contribute to the professional body of knowledgeOther duties as assigned

- One year relevant professional experience (e.g., post-MLS experience or health sciences practice)
- Professional experience in health science librarianship or health sciences profession
- Experience working with health professional faculty, students and/or clinicians
- Subject background in the health or life sciences, or in information technology
- Experience in initiating creative and innovative information services programs
- Experience with LibGuides or other tools for developing online guides
- Knowledge of citation management software
- Knowledge of best practices and emerging trends for instruction
- Experience in using project management tools and processes
