Working closely with campus financial management, the UCI Controller's Office is a trusted strategic partner divided into four core teams: Accounting & Fiscal Services, Contracts & Grants, Procurement Services, and Financial Services. The Procurement Services team leads through best practices the acquisition of quality goods and services by implementing processes and procedures that deliver high quality expertise, significant value, and excellent customer service. This position directly reports to Procurement Manager and closely works with the Chief Procurement Officer to identity, over all analysis, spend patterns of various departments to identify opportunity, trend, and work on various Procurement Management reporting needs Applies skills and experience as a seasoned business analytics professional to projects of medium size at all levels of complexity, or to portions of large, multidimensional projects. Works on problems of diverse scope and high complexity where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors and in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. The primary purpose is to run different reports to analyze and interpret data, summarize the results and provide recommendations to enable procurement decisions. Demonstrates reporting capabilities to address category management, department, and business unit information needs. Works collaboratively with UC system wide Procurement teams and campus buyer community to establish systems and processes to gather, track, manage, and report various data elements, such as spend, savings, revenue, etc. in the most effective and efficient manner. Consults with end users to gather and clarify data and reporting needs for complex business intelligence solutions and analytics. Writes queries, develops report templates, and dashboards. Performs predictive analysis and forecasting to provide information that supports organizational goals. Mines data to quantify relationships and identify issues warranting further analysis. Participates in developing and / or delivering curriculum for end user training to ensure user competence, data access, and optimal performance of BI tools and processes. This role will include tasks such as creating BI reports and generating Tableau dashboard reports. Compensation Range: Commensurate upon experience Department Website:https://procurement.uci.edu/
Required: 3 or more years of experience in ERP systems, mainly Procurement and Spend analysis modules, structure, and processes, experience supporting procurement/supply chain; accounting activities. 3 or more years as part of procurement transformations including exposure to market leading solutions (Ariba, Coupa, GEP, Jaggaer, etc.) PreferredBachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.Ability to report/analyze data using various database interface tools as well as Excel analytics, and Tableau reporting. Proficient in Microsoft Office products with advanced skills in Excel, including pivot tables and v look up Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with a broad range of professional and technical staff. Ability to perform analysis for highly complex purchasing projects Thorough reporting knowledge and familiarity with Business Intelligence tools (BI) Thorough knowledge of relevant internal databases, BI applications and tools. Ability to produce high-quality reports and documentation. Detail oriented, with ability to manage time and organize competing priorities. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex information in a clear, concise manner, including a cohesive and concise story Thorough knowledge of business intelligence functions, analytics, industry standards and best practices Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage complex information, assess problems, and develop and effective solutions. Thorough knowledge of preparing cyclical reports including variance analysis and procurement spend Preferred: Knowledge OF CalUsoure, Tableau, supply chain terminology and best practices. Special Conditions Required: Ability to work in hybrid on-site and remote work environment Must comply with UC Vaccine policy
