Position Summary:

Oversee and direct the fiscal and operational affairs of the University of North Carolina at Asheville. Manage the divisions of Finance and Campus Operations. Manage the Division of Administration and Finance. This position may serve as a Legislative Liaison for the University and its constituents. This position is a senior administrative officer and reports directly to the Chancellor.

Required Education/Experience/Skills:

This position requires possession of post baccalaureate credentials and/or equivalent independent experience.

Preferred Education/Experience/Skills:

The preferred candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline and five years in a position demonstrating the knowledge, skills and abilities required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

Possess an in-depth understanding of and commitment to the distinctive public liberal arts mission of the institution.

Possess extensive senior level administrative experience in higher education, government, or other complex organization or agency open to public observation.

Knowledge, proven management skills and analytical problem solving abilities relevant to the diverse areas to be supervised (budget, finance, facilities planning, facilities management, and grants and contracts administration).

Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with a broad range of external constituencies, such as news media, governing boards, corporations, and various levels of state and local government.

Demonstrated ability to create partnerships in developing and implementing goals.

Possess flexibility and willingness to operate in a consensus-driven environment.
