Description
The IBC Operations Coordinator serves as a member of Campus Recreation and reports to the Assistant Director of Fitness.  Coordinates and manages all aspects of the Independence Blue Cross (IBC) Student Recreation Center related programs, services, activities and events. The IBC Operations Coordinator also recruits, hires, and trains student staff, and manages the fitness equipment maintenance and repairs. This role develops and applies policies and procedures as they relate to the fitness facilities, including documentation of processes and protocols. Assists with the department’s maintenance contract for fitness equipment and acts as the primary conduit for all facility and housekeeping needs for the IBC Student Recreation Center. Maintains all safety aspects of the recreation facilities, and acts as liaison with internal departments. Performs other duties as assigned.

Temple University’s Campus Recreation is the coordinating office for recreational sports programs on Main Campus. More than 4,000 students, staff, and alumni participate daily in one or more of the various activities offered by our office. These activities include: intramurals, sports clubs, special events and programs, group fitness, adapted recreation, aquatics, student staff development, and informal recreation.

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Physical Education, Kinesiology or related field and two (2) years of experience in the collegiate recreational sports environment.  Experience working independently without supervision. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills and Abilities:
*Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills along with the ability to interact with a diverse group of individuals inside and outside of the university.
*Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion.
*Demonstrated ability to set priorities, coordinate multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
*Excellent organizational skills along with the ability to work independently and efficiently.
*Ability to translate and communicate the mission of a complex, urban university.
*Ability to persuasively represent University goals to various constituency groups.  
*Must be able to work flexible shifts between 6 am -11 pm as well as weekends when needed.
*Intensive concentration and excellent listening skills.
*Ability to multi-task and focus on completion of tasks and objectives while under stress of demanding work schedule.
*Must maintain a positive and objective approach and attitude, even when confronted with difficult situations.

Preferred:
*Master’s degree.  
*Certifications in CPR/AED/First Aid. 
*Initial level of fitness and exercise certification through ACSM, ACE, NASM, AAAI, YMCA, or NSCA.
