Reporting to the Sr. Associate Director for recruitment, the Associate Director of Admissions (In State) is responsible for developing and implementing the Office of Admissions recruitment plan for enrolling a diverse and talented freshman class. Focusing on Florida residents, the incumbent manages on and off campus recruiting programs, assists with freshman holistic review, responds to inquiries by phone, email, and virtual platforms, and supervises an admissions team to include hiring, training, and evaluating team performance.
Under the supervision of the Sr. Associate Director responsible for recruitment, the Associate Director leads the Office of Admissions’ outreach and recruitment effort, with a specific emphasis on Florida residents. The Associate Director will develop recruitment and outreach strategies to help the Office of Admissions meet its recruitment and enrollment goals by compiling data and reports to assess student application and enrollment trends as well as identify key markets and activities that support university enrollment initiatives. The Associate Director will advise the Sr. Associate Director and Director on the development and implementation of outreach and recruitment plans for targeted student populations including academically talented minority, first-generation, and low-income students. The Associate Director will participate in the planning and execution of off campus recruitment events as well as on campus programming. As a member of the leadership team, the Associate Director will assist with the development and annual revision of the General Information Brochure (GIB), website, social media accounts, and other admission/recruitment materials. In collaboration with fellow members of the leadership team, the Associate Director will compile data to analyze return on investment (ROI) regarding outreach and recruitment efforts.
Supervises a recruitment team focused on outreach, recruitment, and yield of talented Florida residents. Leads team in identifying key markets and activities within Florida to support university enrollment initiatives by utilizing application and yield data. The Associate Director will partner with school districts, alumni, community-based organizations (CBO’s) and campus partners who share UF’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Assists with general admissions counseling, freshman application review, planning and implementation of all admissions related events. Provides admission presentations to visitors at on-campus and off-campus events. Incumbent must be able to travel within the United States, which includes loading and unloading admissions materials (40 lb. limit).
Participates in office-wide planning, resource allocation decisions, and long/short term goal setting for the department.
The Associate Director will perform other duties as assigned by the Sr. Associate Director or other senior leadership. May handle special projects in support of the Office of Admissions and the Division of Enrollment Management. Specific projects may vary with the incumbent’s expertise, experience, as well as the shifting needs of the division regarding opportunities and challenges. Active participation in NACAC, FACRAO and other is actively encouraged.
Master’s degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and six years of relevant experience.
Valid Driver's License is required.
