The CU College of Nursing has an opening for a 1.00 FTE Systems Administrator/IT Sr. Professional position.   Under the guidance of the Assistant Director of IT Operation and Data Management, this position supports core IT operations functions, with a focus on configuration, performance, and integrations. This position will also be a key collaborator for systems related projects for innovation and efficiency. These projects include InPlace (Clinical Placements System) and OnBase query creation. The ideal candidate is technically-minded, detail-oriented, and enjoys problem solving. The successful candidate will be a team player focused on supporting the needs of the IT team, with the ability to balance a variety of tasks and prioritize goals, while meeting deadlines.

Specific responsibilities may include:

  • Assist in the planning, configuration, deployment, and support of Information Technology (IT) resources by facilitating and coordinating work with vendors, suppliers, and all other campus personnel.
  • Administration of Microsoft Active Directory for user and security groups management.
  • Basic SQL Database Administration, Scripting/Programming.
  • Analyze complex business processes and define application requirements and technical specifications.
  • Prepare accurate time estimates for projects and manage tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Independently research, test, install, configure, and troubleshoot imaging software used to deploy operating systems on Windows and Mac based computers.
  • Provide back-up desktop support and point of escalation for the IT Support Specialists, as needed.
  • Monitor, track and/or escalate work orders to ensure timely customer issue resolution, including working with other teams on complicated issues as needed.
  • Consult with campus technology users on their hardware and software needs and make recommendations to them on purchasing as appropriate.
  • Manage all aspects of Zendesk ticketing system, including assigning, tracking, coaching and resolving tickets.
  • Managing the inventory of IT equipment and track them in the asset management software.

Minimum Qualifications:

    A bachelor’s degree in computer science, management/computer information systems, computer engineering, information technology, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
Two years of professional level experience with Windows Server and workstation operating systems. Examples may include Active Directory administration and integration, Operating Systems installation and configuration processes, and/or IT support to end-users.Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

PLEASE NOTE: Candidates will be responsible for travel expenses related to the interview process and any relocation expenses, if applicable.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years working in Higher Education Information Technology.
  • 2 years of experience with the principles and practice of system configuration management.
  • 2+ years working with SQL Server.
  • Experience with Windows Server 2016, 2019.
  • 2+ years of experience with Document Management Systems (Onbase).
  • Experience using remote computer access or maintenance software.
  • Experience using WDS.
  • Experience with computer or application imaging software.
  • Experience working in a college or higher education environment.
  • Experience with using ZenDesk ticketing system or similar.
  • Experience with asset management software and techniques.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $62,148 to $79,052.  

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
