The Colorado School of Public Health has an opening for a full-time University Staff (unclassified) Employment Lifecycle Senior Professional Position.

Nature of Work

The Colorado School of Public Health (ColoradoSPH) is a unique and collaborative graduate school that combines the collective expertise of three Colorado universities: the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus (CU Anschutz) in Aurora, Colorado State University (CSU) in Fort Collins, and the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) in Greeley, Colorado. The Colorado School of Public Health is the only accredited school of public health in the Rocky Mountain Region, attracting top tier faculty and students from across the country, and providing a vital contribution towards ensuring our region’s health and wellbeing. The Office of Human Resources is responsible for the day-to-day operations of all HR aspects and functions for the Colorado School of Public Health at the CU Anschutz campus. The office provides support and direction regarding the interpretation and enforcement of federal and state laws, and university personnel policies and guidelines. The office provides support in areas such as HCM management, payroll, and recruitment, on boarding, performance issues, annual employee evaluations, leave, benefits, and employee relations.

The Employment Lifecycle Senior Professional will serve as a key member of the HR team to support the school’s departments and centers in collaboration with school leadership and central Anschutz offices. Specifically, the position will be responsible for the recruitment of Colorado School of Public Health exempt professional staff, classified staff, student workers, teaching assistants, and temporary employees. The onboarding of new employees is a critical component of this position making all employees feel like they belong and are excited to be a member of the Colorado School of Public Health.  This individual should be well versed on the current initiatives the school is focused on such as inclusion, sense of community, employee well –being and mental health, career trajectory, professional development, and retention.

This position will work with hiring authorities to create 90-day performance plans for new employees. It will provide support and training for the school’s search committees ensuring a focus on equity, diversity, and inclusion best practices and a timely pace for each search to remain competitive with the recruitment market; compile the surveys for the Office of Human Resources that include recruitment and onboarding, 30 day job satisfaction surveys, and exit interviews. The position will be responsible for conducting audits on leave for separation payout and assisting with biweekly payroll for student and temporary workers.

Additionally, the incumbent will oversee POI accounts (any person not paid by the university who needs access to a university system) and enter and submit all recruitment functions in HCM. In addition, the incumbent will coordinate annual performance evaluations; maintain employee records, employee list serves, and directories. A monthly responsibility of this position is to create and distribute the electronic HR Newsletter informing all employees of upcoming deadlines, key HR and Total Health initiatives, and CU employee benefits information. 

The Employment Lifecycle Senior Professional is required to demonstrate the utmost attention to detail and flexibility in dealing with daily operations of the HR office. The individual will need to be a team player who can work independently and in alignment with the office’s other senior professional in a fast-paced environment, with tact and diplomacy. The Employment Lifecycle Senior Professional needs to be knowledgeable of laws, policies, and procedures to provide advice and guidance to hiring managers and employees relevant to Human Resources operations.

While the primary work location of this position is located in Aurora on the CU Anschutz campus this position has the flexibility to work a hybrid location/schedule with at least two days a week that can be worked from home. Recruitment

    Responsible for the recruitment of Colorado School of Public Health exempt professional staff, classified staff, student workers, graduate research assistants, and temporary employees from job posting to onboarding Training of hiring authorities about Job description templates Distribution of Letter of Offer templates and knowledge of approved compensation salary bandsResponsible for conducting pre-onboarding duties such as background checks, employment eligibility verifications (I9), vaccination verification and other duties related to current and new positions.Serve as an authorized approver for ID badges, keys, and building access for the school.Conduct onboarding of all ColoradoSPH employeesEntries into HCM related to recruitment, transfers, retirements, and separationsTrain and support search committees for staff recruitment
Employment Lifecycle, Retention and Wellbeing

    Create, send, compile and report on HR Surveys such as Recruitment and Onboarding; 30-day job satisfaction surveys, and exit surveysSupport hiring authorities and follow up of 90-day new employee plans Create monthly HR newsletter tied directly to total health initiatives and benefitsResponsible for maintaining and handling confidentiality and sensitive material in accordance with CU policy and procedures. Maintain personnel records in accordance with CU and School policies.
Administrative

    Serve as the point of contact for FTE, job code and position changes. Conduct leave audits and create separation paperwork required to complete vacation payouts.Responsible for processing and maintaining all Person of Interest (POI) accounts (non-paid volunteers, etc); Conduct annual audits and assisting business partners with new and expiring accounts.Assist with bi-weekly payroll: communication with new student workers and temp employees about timesheet submission; emailing reminders, etc Serves as the point of contact for collecting and submitting annual performance and evaluations in accordance with CU policy and procedures.Manage HR listservs and website. Provide monthly updates for the school’s directoryOversee the ColoradoSPH.HR@cuanschutz.edu email.Conduct and assist with training related to HR and personnel administrative procedures, in accordance with CU policies. Assist with special projects involving the ColoradoSPH-HR, Central UCD HR, University Counsel and Employee Services.
Depending on the incumbent’s professional growth, additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned.



Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

    A bachelor’s degree in personnel administration, human resources, faculty affairs, business administration, or a directly related field. 2 years of administrative experience.
Substitution: Work experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

    Experience with HR administration and/or faculty affairs. Work experience within a higher educational setting.Experience using HCM and University systems.Senior Professional/Professional HR Certification.Proficiency in Microsoft Office software that includes Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Experience with Adobe Acrobat Pro.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this 100% full-time position has been established at $57,428 - $65,000.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation at the time of posting. The salary for the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, career field, education, and area of expertise.
