Job Details
Job Summary
The purpose of this position is to fill a temporary job assignment in any department. The assignment is expected to have an anticipated end date, generally less than 12 months from the start date.
Childcare (if applicable)
- Provides childcare when both President and Spouse are engaged in university business
- Contributes to a safe, caring, nurturing, and stimulating environment in which the children thrive and develop.
- Transports children to and from activities safely.
- Assist children’s schedule
- Ensure children’s schoolwork is completed along with other responsibilities (I.e., piano practice, chores)
Housekeeping
- Assist the President’s family in household tasks, such as cleaning, cooking, housekeeping, maintenance and related errands.
- Carry out routine cleaning tasks at scheduled times in addition to proactively completing observed cleaning needs.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the home in accordance with management of other buildings at the university
- Be vigilant and report completed tasks and potential issues to the President’s family
University Responsibilities Support
- Managing Sister Kauwe’s calendar to ensure awareness of all university responsibilities.
- Working with Chief of Staff to ensure understanding of all university events requiring her presence and participation.
- Managing or assisting in in preparation for and execution of events held at the President’s home.
- Assisting in childcare required to support the President’s family attendance at university events
Qualifications and Experience
Experience -
- Working with a cleaning team, dealing with waste, smells and bodily excretions and dirt
- Maintain privacy and confidentiality in working with the President’s family
- Show empathy, care, and compassion
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, visitors, colleagues, clients
- Ability to work independently, flexibly, and professionally – dealing with stressful and changeable situations
- Ability to adhere to instructions, standards, and procedures
- Ability to build relationships and show respect for other people
- Positive attitude and enthusiasm
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Excellent customer service skills
- Creating a safe, nurturing environment
