We especially encourage women, people of color, members of the LGBTQ+ community, veterans and people with disabilities to apply.Description:Reporting to the Assistant Dean, School of Education, the Senior Support Specialist Performs a full range of senior level clerical duties in the support of the Senior Associate Dean, Assistant Dean for the School of Education (SoE) and the Assistant Dean for Assessment and Accreditation.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•Provides clerical support to the Hofstra University School of Education Dean's Office.
•Tracks that graduating students have applied for graduation and certification.
•Reviews Title II reports for accuracy in collaboration with the Registrar and Office of Institutional Research.
•Accepts and tracks all certification-related paperwork, institutional recommendation forms, out of state verification forms, and graduate petitions.
•Enters all student exams in Banner and maintains up-to-date binders of all certification exams.
•Maintains student files in shared drive.
•Distributes major approvals to all departments in SoE and follows up as appropriate.
•Trains and supervises student assistants for Dean’s Office.
•Handles all aspects of departmental mail including outgoing mail, receiving, sorting, and distributing mail.
•May perform other assigned duties not specifically identified above but which require the same degree of skill and are normally included within the above job description.

Hours: Monday to Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm

Qualifications:•Detail-oriented, self-motivated and well-organized.
•Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
•Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
•Strong organization, and problem-solving skills.
•Excellent interpersonal, phone and communication skills.
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office, more specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
