Job Details

The Division of Mathematics and Information Technology is seeking an individual to serve as a part time instructor for courses in MTH-1015: Contemporary Issues in Mathematics, which meets MWF 10:10-11:05 and 11:15 -12:10 in the fall of 2022.  The person in this position will possess unquestionable integrity, be a good listener, and be a team player.

Contemporary Issues in Mathematics combines computer literacy with specific math topics that are related to the real world.  The candidate should have the ability to teach using computers, including the Microsoft Office suite, as well as have a background in mathematics. This course is part of a First Year Experience (FYE) program where most of the students will be freshman nursing majors.

There is a preference for previous college teaching experience in the discipline/field, with familiarity with learning management systems to assist in delivering course content, maintaining consistent contact with students, and maintaining course records. 

Required: A minimum of Master’s degree in Information Technology/Computer Science/Game Programming, Mathematics/Math Education, or related area.

It's less than a mile from the intersection of the New York State Thruway and Interstate 84, and just a few blocks from entrance to the Newburgh side of the Beacon-Newburgh Bridge. The Mount is also easily accessible by plane, with Stewart Airport just minutes from campus. The Mid-Hudson Valley offers a scope of unparalleled natural beauty in a landscape of mountains, river and forest. Enrollment/Student Body Profile. Our student body is made up of 2,700+ students representing over 16 states and several countries. 1,800 are traditional undergraduate students.

Academic Programs. The Mount offers 50 undergraduate programs leading to a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree. Our collaboration programs offer you a chance to earn a bachelor's degree, plus an advanced degree with schools like Fordham University, Pace University, and New York Medical College. The college also offers master's degrees in education, business, and nursing.
