The UT System’s delivery of education, discovery, outreach, and public service contributes to the economic, social, and environmental well-being of all Tennesseans.The OpportunityThe Senior Learning Consultant & Business Partner promotes and provides professional and personal development and learning services to university employees and departments statewide; researches, designs, delivers, evaluates, and revises learning programs; leads and implements select learning curricula, including curriculum research, development, and delivery; plans, coordinates, and manages key learning events and programs, such as annual conferences and seminars; coordinates and delivers third-party training programs; consults with departments to develop and deliver customized learning and development solutions; evaluates learning needs and makes recommendations for fulfillment and curricula; and provides other essential learning-related and HRD functions as needed. As a senior consultant & business partner, provides high-level support to campus or institute leaders and HR professionals in addressing unique learning and development needs. Works collaboratively with the executive director and other EOD staff in ensuring the development of effective working and service relationships within the unit and with campus and institute leaders, HR professionals, learning professionals, and other stakeholders.Duties and Responsibilities
- Research, design, develop, and deliver in-person and eLearning training courses and programs, including oversight of certificate curriculum. Partner with EOD staff, system and campus leaders to optimize learning solutions that satisfy state-wide professional development needs among employees, with emphasis on strategic initiatives and compliance effectiveness. Conduct needs anayses and map plan to meet identified needs for assigned business partner unit.Consult with campuses, institutes, and/or departments to develop and deliver customized learning and development solutions, strategic planning services, and organizational development interventions. Perform professional and personal development services such as coaching, mentoring, and performance consulting.Plan, coordinate, and manage major learning events. Evaluate, analyze, and assess training needs and fulfillmentOther learning and HRD-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- A bachelor's degree in Human resources, adult learning, psychology, sociology or related field of study required.A master's degree in Human resources, adult learning, psychology, sociology or related field of study preferred.Professional certifications (i.e., PHR, SPHR, CPLP, CPT) are also preferred.Minimum of 5 years' experience in developing and facilitating adult learning events in a productivity-based workplace preferred.1-3 years' supervisory experience preferred.Experience applying learning evaluation methods, organizational development and/or performance coaching experienc preferred. Learning needs assessment and evaluation experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills required.Effective writing skills applicable to course development required. Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint and webinar delivery facilitation tools required. Familiarization with adult learning principles and how to apply them effectively in learning and performance interventions required. Must be able to travel across the state as needed.Knowledge of statistical methods and how to summarize and apply them to training applications preferred.
