Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit:

In support of the mission of UNC Greensboro, the University Registrar’s Office (URO) fosters student success and cultivates exemplary student experiences for all University constituents related to academic records, policies, and regulations.

Position Summary:

The Systems & Reporting Support Specialist is a junior member of the Registrar’s Systems & Reporting team and serves the URO as associate webmaster, report support, data specialist, and systems & hardware technician. There are two Systems & Reporting Support Specialist positions and each serves as an active participant in implementing and testing new tools, workflow processes, and strategic initiatives designed to increase departmental effectiveness. The positions are primarily responsible for technological, systems, and reporting-running functions within the URO. Additionally, the URO Support Specialists will develop a solid understanding of how to leverage reporting and data analysis to support student needs and the institution’s strategic goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from high school and one year in the field of technology related to the positions’ role. Computer coursework may be substituted year for year for the required experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Journey level requires an additional six (6) months experience
  • Advanced level requires an additional one (1) year of experience

  • Demonstrated critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and foster collaboration with a wide variety of university clientele.

  • Classroom or professional experience with data analysis, web design, or working in a call center environment.
  • Excellent organizational, administrative, and time management skills.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).
  • Experience in a registrar’s, admissions, or academic services.
  • Experience using student information systems, Banner 9, DegreeWorks, Argos, and WebFocus.
  • Working knowledge of how to build forms and manage workflow.

Essential Tasks:

  • The Systems & Reporting Support Specialist will work on enhancing the level of customer service for all clients of the office through improved services, continued evaluation, and consistent knowledge transfer and training.
  • Adheres to data integrity standards for all student-related data in the University Registrar’s Office.
  • Supports the Systems & Reporting team with entering and validating data while adhering to all policies associated with the safeguarding of student information.
  • Under the guidance of the Systems & Reporting Lead Analyst:
    • Collaborates with ITS and the University community regarding software updates, configurations, and customizations.
    • Supports the automation of processes for the URO and our University partners.
    • Assist with the testing and development of workflows and enterprise resource planning process

Web Applications Management( report on internal URO Web Apps)

Essential Tasks:

  • Under the guidance of the Business Technology Applications Specialist:
    • Responsible for supporting internal URO Web applications, mainly in WordPress, to provide service and support to faculty & staff, and alumni
    • Responsible for auditing and updating URO information shared online via website and dashboards
    • Utilizes specific tools to display/collect

Forms and Reporting (Data Entry)

Essential Tasks:

  • Under the guidance of the Systems & Reporting Lead Analyst:
    • Collaborates and creates forms using various software to support the needs of the URO and the University.
    • Generates reports and data analysis for internal URO forms and business processes.
    • Focuses on the accuracy and integrity of data for reporting to parties both internal and external to the URO and the campus community.
    • Supports the submission of data to the National Student Clearinghouse and related compliance issues.
    • Participates in all aspects of the student data lifecycle – including the creation, maintenance, and warehousing of student data and the creation of reports.
    • Produces reports and aggregates data as requested by the Systems and Reporting Team, the URO, University officials, and members of the Enrollment Management departments.
