Essential Job Duties:The Women & Minority Engineering Programs at North Carolina State University College of Engineering is seeking candidates for the position of a full-time, 12-month Program Coordinator. The responsibilities are to assist the leadership team of the women and minority engineering programs in developing, implementing, administering, and evaluating programs affecting the success of historically underrepresented populations in the engineering student body while ensuring an inclusive and supportive environment for all students in the College of Engineering at NC State University.
The essential job duties include:
- developing and implementing engagement programs focused on historically underrepresented populations in the engineering and computer science fields;
- co-facilitating student mentor programs and coaching student mentors;
- coordinating with the director of assessment for survey construction and data collection to determine the effectiveness of programs;
- collaborating with university partners to achieve college diversity goals and other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Other responsibilities include:
- interacting with corporate/industry partners to promote diversity programs;
- serving on relevant university and college committees, and developing relationships to advance department, college, and university goals.
Require post-baccalaureate credentials or a bachelor’s degree plus alternative or equivalent professional training and experience may be substituted for the advanced degree on an exceptional basis.
- Bachelor of Science degree in the fields of science, technology, engineering, or mathematics from an accredited college or university
- Some program management experience
- Some experience working with diverse populations
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusion, equity, and diversity
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment as well as independently
- Working knowledge of trends and issues in diversity and engineering in higher education
- Engaging and self-motivated personality with excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly and effectively interact with a variety of diverse audiences and constituencies
- Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain collaborative relationships
- Demonstrated skills in organizing highly detailed complex programs
- Advanced degree in the fields of science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or higher education from an accredited college or university.
