Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Assistant Athletic Trainer - Boca Raton, FL.

Summary of Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist the Head Trainer with coordination and administration of the athletic training program in a manner that provides for competent and complete medical care for all student-athletes participating in intercollegiate athletics under the direction of the team physician and the athletic director.
  • Responsible for the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for student-athletes.
  • Administer first aid to injured athletes and apply protective devices such as taping, bandaging or bracing.
  • Assists Head Athletic Trainer and team physician(s) in determining whether an athlete is fit for participation in an athletic function.
  • Assists in the administration program, athletic pre-participation physicals, echocardiograms, and drug-testing programs.
  • Work cooperatively with, and under, the direction of the team physician in respect to the operation of the therapeutic devices and equipment, fitting of braces, guards, or other devices, referrals to physicians, health service or hospital.
  • Perform any other duty that may be initiated as requested by the Head Athletic Trainer.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and one year of directly related professional experience; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and three years of directly related experience.
