At the appropriate time after joining Doane University, the following items will be important barometers of success for the vice president for enrollment management and marketing:

 

Targeted enrollment goals for Doane University have been met. Targeted net tuition revenue goals have been met. Stabilization of the tuition discount rate. The VPEMM has developed and initiated plans for leading the enrollment management team in the next phase of its development by providing an inspirational, strategic, and statistically supported vision for short-and long-term enrollment goals. Effectively leverage Doane University’s distinctions to enhance its ability to enroll and retain a talented and diverse population of students. The strategic enrollment management plan continues to be implemented and assessed regularly. Flawless and seamless service to students continues across the enrollment management division. Continuous streamlining of processes.  A clear enrollment matrix outlining strategies for attracting specific targeted populations of students, including traditional, transfer, adult and online, has been established. Data and analytics continue to be utilized to influence and/or drive decisions. Proactive communication within the division and with external offices and stakeholders is provided. Effective coloration with campus partners on retention issues is place. The VPEMM is a visible and engaged leader throughout campus and is collaborating with all constituents on enrollment and marketing initiatives. Partner with the director of marketing officer to identify and effectively and persuasively tell the Doane University “story.” Continue implementing best practices.

Characteristics of the Successful Candidate

In addition to the above academic and experiential requirement, Doane University seeks an enrollment management professional who values diversity, equity and inclusion in all that they do. The Doane University vice president for enrollment management and marketing must have strong organizational skills and a proven ability to work collaboratively across departments. This is not a maintain status quo position, the opportunity for impact is significant.

    • Visionary and innovative leader willing to take calculated risks;
    • Strong technology skills, advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Access databases and familiarity with SQL is preferred
    • Demonstrated success at automating processes;
    • Strong facilitator able to lead, manage and motivate others;
    • Knowledge of federal regulations, including FERPA, national trends, and current research and best practices in the field of registration and records;
    • Collegial and cooperative with all constituents, including students, faculty members, coaches and staff;

    • Ability to help anticipate and navigate the challenges and opportunities in higher  education;
