Job Details

 

St. Norbert College, a nationally-ranked, private, Catholic, liberal arts college is seeking a Grant Operations Coordinator. This position is primarily responsible for coordinating pre-award planning, organization, preparation, and post-award administration of all institutional grants; identifying potential sources of public and private grant funding; and ensuring compliance with grant sponsor terms, St. Norbert policies, and federal regulations.

Specific responsibilities:

Plan and aid grant proposal development and oversee submission operations through specific grant portals. - 40%

Identify and disseminate funding opportunities to faculty and staff. Actively consult with faculty, staff, and administrators regarding grant opportunities. Build and maintain a system to track and manage grant deadlines and projects. - 15%

Assist in the preparation and maintenance of necessary systems for reporting on the use of grant funds to meet the requirements of the funding agency. Work with the Academic Affairs Budget manager and/or staff in Finance to ensure timely and accurate reporting of grant funds. - 15%

Together with the Academic Affairs Budget Manager and/or staff in Finance, assist grant recipients in the administration of grant budgets. - 10%

Communicate with program officers and federal officials in order to determine the strategic emphasis and appropriateness of various funding opportunities. Examine changes occurring within federal and private grant-awarding agencies. Maintain a calendar. - 10%

Together with the Office of Communication, develop and maintain grant award information for internal and external audiences. - 5%

Serve as an appointed member of the Collaborative Undergraduate Research Committee. - 5%

Perform additional duties as assigned and attend College required training. Regular attendance is required. Work in a manner that is aware of personal safety and the safety of others and observes safety, health and sanitation codes, regulations, or practices required by the College or governmental authority.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
Education    

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Experience and Credentials

  • 3-5 years experience in grant writing/managing and planning proposals.

  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse campus environment or commitment to do so as an employee of St. Norbert College.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to interact professionally with coworkers and customers, particularly in conflict situations.

  • Ability to communicate politely and resolve customer service issues.

  • Ability to multitask, meet specific deadlines, and prioritize tasks and assignments.

  • Skilled in basic math computations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

  • Knowledge of computer programs (Microsoft Office, Google Apps) and ability to learn upgrades and new programs as needed.

  • Ability to exercise good judgement and decisions in an expeditious manner.

  • Skilled at setting a good example for others. 

  • Skilled at organizing events, programs, projects and see them through to completion.

Working Conditions

Regular work hours are M – F, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm on campus with a few interruptions throughout the day.  Weekends or evenings are generally not required and the position is not required to travel, although opportunities for professional development via local and national conferences are available.

  • Generally a sedentary position working on campus in a professional office environment.  Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling no more than 10 lbs.  Will need to move within office and building with occasional meetings in other buildings on campus.
