Position Description:

Yale-NUS College is a highly selective liberal arts and science college in Singapore. Co-founded by Yale University and the National University of Singapore, the College is committed to excellence in research and teaching in a full residential programme that integrates living and learning. Its curriculum educates students in Asian and Western intellectual traditions as well as current scientific thought.

The College seeks to hire a full-time Lecturer in Philosophy. The appointment will be for the first semester of the Academic Year 2022/2023, which runs from August to December 2022. The successful candidate is expected to teach three courses, including at least two courses in social and political philosophy, all within the Philosophy major.

Eligibility and Qualifications:

  • A Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g., Philosophy) is required.
  • A proven record of excellent teaching at the college level and a commitment to effective creative pedagogical approaches for undergraduate teaching will be an advantage.
  • A demonstrated ability to teach courses in social and political philosophy
