Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities:Recruits high school students to MSU through college visits, fairs, and meetings with prospective Illinois and St. Louis, MO area high school students. This is a remote position which maintains a presence for Murray State University in the Illinois and St. Louis, MO region.
- Inform, advise and counsel prospective students and their families about the university.
- Plan, promote and organize a series of MSU recruitment-related events geared towards prospective Illinois and St. Louis, MO area high school students and their families.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with Illinois and St. Louis, MO area high school and non-school programs.
- Make off-campus visits to Illinois and St. Louis, MO area high schools and appropriate non-school programs to provide information about the university.
- Assist the Assistant Director, Recruitment in coordinating and planning regional receptions in the Illinois and St. Louis, MO/St. Louis Metro area.
- Maintain prospective student data reporting for specific counties within territory.
- Develop a territory-specific communication (print and social media) plan for students within target area.
- Coordinate recruitment programs for Illinois and St. Louis, MO area high school counselors and other university partners.
- Organize an admission advisory panel for Illinois and St. Louis, MO area high school guidance counselors.
- Coordinate college programming activities with IACAC and MOACAC organizations.
- Attendance at weekend and evening event in Illinois, and other locations as needed.
- Participate in the developing the Illinois regional recruitment plan.
- Assist with necessary administrative responsibilities, as a position working autonomously in a remote capacity.
- Other job appropriate duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Excellent writing skills, as demonstrated in application materials.
- Excellent oral communication skills.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to use discretionary judgment.
- Excellent computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent leadership and time management skills.
- Must have experience with student recruitment-related activities.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel on a regular basis.
