The Department of Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine has an opening for a full-time University Staff (unclassified) Business Services Professional position.

Nature of Work:

The Business Services Professional supports the Division Administrator by performing a variety of financial related tasks and analysis.  The Business Services Professional will be responsible for monitoring the division’s CME accounts, auxiliary accounts, enrichment, and other assigned accounts.  This position will also be responsible for assisting with capital asset management, serving as the procurement expert for the division.  The Business Services Professional will assist the administrator in preparing invoices to the hospital, monitoring payment, and following up with CU Medicine and hospital staff as necessary.  This position will assist the Division Administrator with routine financial reporting, annual budgeting activities, accounting transactions, as well as other fiscal duties as assigned. 

This position will be a 75/25 split between the Divisions of General Internal Medicine and Hospital Medicine. 25% of time will be for Grants and Contracts work for the Division of Hospital Medicine.

Finances (60%)

Financial/Operational Data Management

    Update internal financial and operational data sets on a periodic basis (MyBI-Revenue Cycle; MyBI-cFTE; MyBI-wRVU’s; HCM-Funding Distribution).On a periodic basis run all internal reports, data-flows, and processes to ensure updated and accurate information.Utilize available data tools to update all financial reports for the Division Administrator, Division Head, and Division Leadership.Using tools like MyBI and A2E, build divisional reports to easily and quickly monitor division speedtypes, funding distributions, P&L statements, and other KPIs.Build process charts and periodic checks and balances to ensure all reports are up to date.
Fiscal Responsibilities

    Analyze, review, and submit charge corrections for the Division.Maintain accurate cFTE records for the Division.Collect monthly reports issued by CU Medicine and validate the reports against AX.Review divisional funding distributions for faculty and staff.Prepare and process journal entries on assigned accounts and as requested by the Division Administrator.Review and submit CU Marketplace Purchase Orders.
Financial Report Generation

    Assist with drafting and gathering information for Annual Division Reports.Perform other duties as assigned by the Division Administrator.Participate and contribute to Division staff meetings and initiatives.Create custom dashboards for faculty and staff.
Grants (40%)

Grant Management Support

    Assist with collecting and tracking materials needed for sponsor Just-in-Time requests.
    Prepare pre-award speed type requests as needed.Help with biosketch and other support review and reformatting to conform to current NIH guidelines.Prepare procurement and CU Marketplace requests for investigators (i.e. gift cards, study expenses, etc.).Assist with pre-award tasks assigned by the grants management team such as preparing documents for submission and obtaining signatures.

Minimum Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Health Care Administration, public health or a related field from an accredited college or university.One (1) year of experience in a business-related position working with finances or grants.
Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis, but not for the specific experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

    Experience working in a higher education and/or healthcare environment.Experience coordinating contracts and invoicing based on contract deliverables.Experience working with InfoEd Proposal Development System or similar grant submission software.Experience working with Excel.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $53,946 to $68,619.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
