Job Description:


Under the direction of the Registrar, the Special Programs Coordinator assists with operations of the Registrar's Office activities, responsibilities, and policies (i.e. - assists with design, organization, and maintenance of registration records, reporting, data entry, enrollment and course management, and degree completion processes). Coordinates with the Operations manager and Registrar to review and plan for registration activities; assists in planning/implementing registration and academic calendars; maintains accurate, friendly, professional customer service in all registration activities; ensures that registration activities are conducted in compliance with established guidelines, policies, and procedures; develops registration manual; evaluates student transcripts for transfer credits; manages front office activities.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • As the first point of contact in the Registrar's Office, this position will provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff, alumni and the RCC Community (i.e. - answers telephones and provides information; answers questions for visitors)
  • Provide a high quality of customer service and senior project leadership on special projects and processes.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely processing of requests from students, alumni, faculty, and staff including transcript requests, enrollment verifications, student information updates, course registration requests, add/drop and withdrawal requests, diploma ordering and certifications.
  • Prepares the college catalog, communicating with academic departments, resolving conflicts, always remaining professional, recording and maintaining updates in appropriate systems.
  • Perform diversified duties providing administrative assistance in all functions of the Registrar's Office while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Provide accurate information to students, administration, faculty and alumni with regard to Federal, Commonwealth and college policies and procedures related to the Registrar's Office.
  • Maintain student files and ensure they are kept up to date.
  • Solicit and compile student handbook contents from various offices and departments.
  • Processes a variety of documentation associated with department activities; prepares general correspondence, reports, forms, billing statements, purchase requisitions, and budget documents.
  • Follow governmental regulations and laws for student privacy and rights for FERPA, Title IX, American Disabilities Act and Rehabilitation Acts, and any others that apply.
  • Perform related duties as directed by the Registrar.


Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Business Administration or related field.
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience and in Registrar related work.
  • Demonstrated experience in management office processes and procedures.
  • Experience in using student information systems
  • Excellent writing, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to interpret academic and administrative policies and to collaborate with academic department and cross-functional teams
  • Proven ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff and student population


Additional Information:


  • This is a full-time, union position with full benefits. MCCC/MTA Grade 5: Salary range is $58,320 - $66,859, and is based on educational credentials and experience.
