Job Description

Centralia College seeks a librarian candidate for this tenure-track faculty position. The Instruction and Systems Librarian leads the management of digital resources and services, library integration with eLearning services, and supports library systems and applications. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience with development and delivery of information literacy instruction in an academic setting.

Duties and Responsibilities

Lead the administration, management, troubleshooting, end-user support, library staff training, and enhancements to all library technology systems, including ExLibris' Alma and Primo, Springshare's LibGuides, LibAnswers, LibCal, and LibAnalytics, OCLC's EzProxy, OU Campus' CMS for the library website, SimpleDL for digital archives, and emerging technology platforms for future library technology needs.Serve as the technical liaison between the library and numerous third-party systems (i.e., database aggregators and other providers of electronic content) as well as the college's IT Services department.Design, teach, and assess course-specific instruction, online learning resources, and other learning experiences that develop information literacy skills and enhance critical thinking through the baccalaureate level; Support and sustain the institution’s information literacy Student Learning Competency including curriculum-development collaboration with faculty;Participate in the development of the library’s print and online collections;Coordinate library technology work with internal and external stakeholders, including library staff, faculty, students, Centralia IT staff, Centralia communications department, vendor support staff, library consortium members and leaders;Assess the learning and research needs of students and faculty to inform the development of appropriate outreach services, learning outcomes, and instructional approaches;Collect, analyze, maintain, and interpret various statistics; Work with publishers, vendors, and campus staff to investigate and resolve discovery and access problems;Support faculty efforts to adopt and create open educational resources and other forms of digital scholarship;Contribute to library strategic planning in order to advance the college’s evolving goals with respect to pedagogy, information, and technology;Participate in assessment and accreditation activities;Participate in shared collegial decision making and planning through service on campus-wide committees;Foster and support campus commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion; Pursue professional development to stay current in the field;Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in library and/or information science (or its equivalent) from an ALA-accredited library program;Experience with developing and delivering information literacy instruction, with demonstrated knowledge of active learning approaches and outcomes assessment; experience in an academic setting preferred;Experience supporting library specific technology applications;Commitment to fostering and supporting a teaching, learning, and working environment that honors diversity, equity, and inclusion;Experience with Microsoft Office 365.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in managing, implementing, or integrating with discovery layers, such as Ex Libris Primo;Experience supporting an integrated library system;Knowledge of HTML5, CSS, and responsive and accessible web design;Familiarity with issues in open education, open textbooks, open access, copyright, and intellectual property; Experience with project management;Experience applying user-centered assessment methods to measure and understand user needs in order to develop services and initiatives;Commitment to the mission and goals of Centralia College;Aptitude for complex, analytical work with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines;Commitment to establishing and maintaining positive and successful working relationships.

Compensation
Placement on the established faculty salary schedule is dependent upon education and teaching experience.
