Job Description
Missouri Online, an endeavor by the University of Missouri System (UM System), seeks an individual who will serve as an enrollment marketing strategist and project manager for online programs across four institutions. Reporting to the brand and strategy manager, the position is housed within the Marketing and Communications unit for Missouri Online. The successful candidate is proactive, client-focused, has proven project management skills and excels at communication. You have experience in the higher education landscape and the digital advertising world with an understanding of tactics to reach target audiences.
The University of Missouri System consists of system administration and four universities: The University of Missouri-Columbia, the University of Missouri-Kansas City, the Missouri University of Science and Technology, the University of Missouri-St. Louis, and all of their component parts, including MU Health, MU Extension and UM Engagement.
Missouri Online provides the academic technology and digital learning services for all students in all modalities systemwide. We provide an administrative structure for the delivery of more than 350 fully online and hybrid degree and certificate programs by providing marketing services, program coordination, research, enrollment and learner analytics, instructional design, academic technology and distance education state authorization coordination. We work with colleagues from all four Universities to enhance educational experiences, advance technological services, and increase efficiencies while pursuing continuous collaboration between the four Universities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR MARKETING STRATEGIST
· Serve as one of five marketing strategists for a busy, deadline-oriented office producing hundreds of projects annually that promote online programs from all four campuses.
· Develop marketing and advertising strategies for online degree and certificate programs intended to garner inquiries and applications to online programs.
· Serve as an ambassador with academic units regarding the communications and marketing strategies for their online programs. Explain marketing and advertising tactics, competitive landscape, and vendor needs to academic unit partners. Understand recruitment trends in the subject areas for assigned online programs.
· Coordinate projects and execute strategies on time and under budget. Manage vendor relationships. Ensure that deliverables are met, appropriate payments are made and agreements upheld.
· Track communication and marketing efforts and create ongoing reports including inquiry and enrollment trend information as related to marketing efforts for the academic units offering the online programs.
· Ensure messaging and tactics are in alignment with academic client goals and intended student outcomes.
· Ensure consistent and effective branding/messaging/imagery for distance education programs among school and college communications professionals and other internal and external colleagues. Review web and promotional content for assigned online programs to ensure accuracy and consistency with an eye toward promotional qualities of the content for the purposes of recruitment.

Minimum QualificationsA Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications- 3-5 years of experience in marketing strategy, direct response advertising, corporate communications or similar.
- Preference given to those who have experience in higher education recruitment, engagement, admissions or communications.
- Expertise in organizing data for analysis, charting and trend analysis.
- Ability to assimilate information quickly, analyze problems and implement appropriate solutions.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
- Capability of managing multiple projects simultaneously while delivering high quality work.
- Ability to follow direction and work under deadlines.
