Effective July 1, 2022, the UMKC School of Computing and Engineering transitions to the School of Science and Engineering (SSE). The department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering transition to the Division of Computing, Analytics and Mathematics (CAM).

Job Description The Division of Computing, Analytics and Mathematics is seeking applicants for a full-time (benefit eligible) non-tenure track (NTT) faculty position at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor, Associate Teaching Professor, or Teaching Professor for Fall 2022 semester.

This Ranked NTT faculty will teach four (4) course sections per semester with an enrollment projection of 60 students per section.

The ideal candidates should have expertise in teaching several topics at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels, including but not limited to: Algorithms, Applied Probability, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Architecture, Cybersecurity, Data Science Principles, Data Structures, Discrete Structures, Human-Computer Interaction, Machine Learning, Networking, Object-Oriented Programming, Operating Systems, Programming Language Paradigms, Software Engineering.

The successful candidate will be expected to 1) have a strong commitment to quality undergraduate / graduate education; 2) teach courses in the undergraduate / graduate programs; 3) maintain an outstanding record of education and professional leadership; 4) engage in department, school, and/or university service activities appropriate to the position, 5) share a commitment to inclusive teaching and student engagement in a diverse student community; and 6) advance the goals and strategic plan of SSE and UMKC. A Teaching Certificate or prior teaching experience in Computer Science or related areas at any level in an accredited university in the USA or elsewhere is advantageous.

The department offers BS degrees (ABET accredited), MS degrees and participates in UMKC's PhD programs. The School of Science and Engineering is located in a “state-of-the-art’ in technology Robert W. Plaster Free Enterprise and Research Center at UMKC. Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or related areas or have a Master’s degree and years of tested industry experience in Computer Science or related areas to be eligible for an Assistant Teaching Professor, Associate Teaching Professor, or Teaching Professor position and teach at the graduate level.

Full Time/Part Time Full time [100% FTE], benefit-eligible, 9-month ranked non-tenure track academic appointment to begin Fall 2022 semester.

Salary Salary is negotiable and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
