The Web Services and Identity Management Unit within the Shared Services Department of the Office of Information Technology is responsible for life-cycle management, maintenance, and support of the web servers delivering content for the NCSU web presence at www.ncsu.edu as well as web servers delivering content for most academic and administrative web environments on campus. Essential Job Duties:
The unit is also responsible for the development, maintenance, and support of Identity Management and Shibboleth web authentication environments as well as system administration of the University Google environment.
Responsible for the development, maintenance, and support of the University Identity and Web environments. Support ongoing management and development of the Enterprise University Identity Management system. Participate in the deployment, configuration management, and support of enterprise level web services serving the University, including the Shibboleth Web authentication and cPanel web hosting environments.Other Responsibilities:
Other duties as assigned.Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field, and three years of experience as a System Administrator, Application Administrator, or Web Server Administrator.Other Required Qualifications:
Must have demonstrated experience with: designing, installing and configuring Oracle WebLogic and Apache Tomcat application servers for identity management and Service-Oriented Architecture including capacity planning, upgrades and performance tuning; multiple programming languages, including Python, Java, Puppet, and Bash; building out load balanced server environments both on premises and in Amazon Web Services; continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment using Jenkins; and Docker containers and Kubernetes.
