Position Title:

Administrative Specialist

Position Description:

Rider University seeks an Administrative Specialist who will, with using a broad level of skills and knowledge, provide advanced administrative support to areas within University Advancement. Individual will: operate independently in prioritizing own workload; work proactively in identifying, following through, and resolving various issues; complete queries, run reports, and create mailing lists using Raiser’s Edge software; create gift calculations and contracts in PG Calc; track budgets, prepare and submit purchase orders and requests for reimbursement; and complete credit card reconciliation on a monthly basis.

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated decision-making, and analytical skills to address questions and concerns raised by internal and external constituents.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems quickly and efficiently under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize appropriately.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently within a cohesive team structure.
  • Effective written and verbal communication and demonstrated customer service skills are required.
  • Working knowledge of standard office equipment required.
  • Computer proficiency is required with an emphasis on Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and data management skills.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to operate independently, prioritize and organize own work schedule, multi-task, and meet established deadlines.
  • Excellent record-keeping and organization skills required.

Position Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
  • 4-6 years’ of related work experience
  • 3-5 years’ of fundraising or development experience in a university, college, private institution, or non-profit setting, or transferable skills and experience
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge software
