The Departments of Languages and Cultures, and Anthropology in the College of Letters, Arts and Sciences, at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs invites applications for a Finance and HR Professional. This position will provide academic, financial, and business-related services to the L&C and Anthropology Departments to support the department’s teaching, research and outreach activities by creating systems and efficiencies and internal controls in the accounting, budget, personnel, and office administration systems.Within the College of Letters, Arts and Sciences (LAS), the Departments of Languages and Cultures, and Anthropology exist to provide high quality education while preserving the teaching intent of a liberal arts education; to encourage the College's faculty and graduate/undergraduate students to produce research; to respond to the educational and intellectual needs of the community and serve as a forum to carry out university and community service.This position supports the education and research in LAS in the departments of Languages and Cultures and Anthropology by assisting the department chairs in coordination of administrative and academic goals as primary liaison between office and faculty, staff and community, and monitors department accounts.Who We Are: The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) is one of four campuses in the University of Colorado system and is home to over 9,000 undergraduate and 1,800 graduate students. - Manage technical budget processes, purchasing and requisitions in support of the department teaching, research, and outreach activities. Serve as Program Fiscal Manager in preparing budget, overseeing compliance.Anticipate, track, and organize budget and operational needs.Oversee, interpret, and adjust journals for general funds, start-up, revenue, gift, outreach and Sponsored Programs on a monthly basis.Processing contracts, monthly, bi-weekly, and hourly pay.Payroll tracking.Job terminations.Hiring, processing, and tracking varieties of instructor overloads, lecturers, student employees, GTAs, volunteers and POIs.Reporting responsibilities: audits, logs, Late Pay, Job List, Cherwell, HCM (Human Resource Management).Creating processes and procedures.Front desk presence to assist, support and provide first-contact for/to the university, college, administration, faculty, students, staff, and general public.Create, organize, and manage administrative documents. Monitor, coordinate and communicate the strategic objectives of the department.Collaborate and communicate successfully with other entities outside of the department and university.Manages and administers grants and sponsored projects. Purchasing of supplies.Attends HR, finance, college, staff, and department meetings and other relevant trainings as needed.
