Position Description:
Founded in 1949, the UCLA School of Nursing is recognized internationally as a leader in nursing research, education, and community service. The School has a constituency base of over 9,000 alumni, as well as donors, parents, faculty, staff, donors, and students who are all shaping the future of health care. Driving these efforts to raise funds that keep vital research and initiatives in motion and deliver on the School's promise to advance nursing science and educate world-class graduates that improve health, transform health care, and help to achieve health equity for all.
Reporting to the Executive Director of Development & Alumni Relations, the Associate Director of Development & Alumni Relations is a member of the UCLA School of Nursing's front line fundraising team.
The Associate Director will be responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors at the levels of annual giving and leadership annual giving with the capacity to grow into major giving donors. The focus will be on soliciting gifts from alumni, parents and friends of the School of Nursing with a specific focus on gifts ranging from $1,000 - $50,000. The Associate Director will manage a portfolio of donors and will create individualized cultivation and solicitation plans and goals.
In close partnership with the Executive Director, this individual will help design and execute multichannel donor communications, stewardship, and solicitation strategies for this portfolio, with goals of increasing engagement and retention, developing a pipeline for major gifts, and building a formal leadership annual giving society.
The Associate Director will guide the School's effort to develop and nurture mutually supportive relationships between the UCLA School of Nursing and its alumni and will oversee the continued growth and development of the UCLA School of Nursing Alumni Board of Directors with the goal of peer-to-peer fundraising. This individual will be expected to develop collegial relationships with School of Nursing faculty and staff, and partner development colleagues across the campus to collaboratively work to increase donor engagement and the probability that the UCLA School of Nursing becomes a funding priority for alumni, parents and friends.
