Posting Summary:
TC NEXT, Teacher College's career services office, is seeking an Assistant Director of Communications & Systems who will be responsible for managing department-wide mass communications, including strategic communications to the students and alumni that we serve as well as event-based promotion, marketing, and support.

Job Summary/Basic Function:
Reporting to the Associate Director of Employer Relations, the Assistant Director of Communications & Systems will manage department-wide mass communications, including strategic communications to the students and alumni that we serve as well as event-based promotion, marketing, and support. This role supports the ongoing development and execution of data-driven, strategic goals for the team at TC NEXT, with an emphasis on the career outcomes data of recent graduates. The Assistant Director will also utilize and support the office's digital platforms, including Symplicity CRM, TC-wide digital platforms, and the TC NEXT website.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:

Data Collection and Strategy

• Collect data from Symplicity CRM, website traffic, and other digital resources (Quinncia, Interstride, Canvas) to establish baselines for success, including measures such as:
• Program-specific engagement and satisfaction data
• Placement in jobs as well as academic opportunities (e.g. fellowships, postdocs, degree programs)
• Student and alumni engagement
• Net Promoter Score
• Work with the Director of TC NEXT and Team Leads to identify appropriate metrics to measure stated objectives
• Work with TC's Office of Institutional Research on developing and deploying the Graduate Student Exit Survey and numerous other surveys related to career outcomes of TC students
• Manage analytics for the Career Resources Portal and all technology platforms utilized by office
• Translate and communicate data to share with internal and external stakeholders (TC NEXT team, faculty, staff, employers)

Communications
• Lead the creation of weekly TC NEXT communications, including e-newsletters and other bulletin
• Operate from an audience-driven perspective, crafting communication strategies that speak to multiple key audience segments (such as department-specific emails and employer communications)
• Produce written content that promotes TC NEXT events and initiatives through emails, flyers, newsletters, and web content
• Analyze mass-communication data including open and click rates and other data points to continually improve the relevance and effectiveness of our outreach efforts
• Oversee TC NEXT's social media platforms

Systems Management
• Manage the back end of digital platforms, such as Symplicity, to ensure that collection of data and input is efficient, effective, and designed to help advance our vision
• Coordinate implementation and maintenance of other digital tools launched by the office (ie. Interstride, Quinncia)
• Collaborate with TC NEXT team leads to enable relevant technologies to deliver team objectives
• Maintain and update the TC NEXT website by communicating with Director and team leads on needs and changes
• Support project organization and planning through the use of a work management platform i.e., Asana

Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree with at least five years of professional experience. Experience developing communications / marketing strategies for multiple audiences
• Strong computer skills (i.e.Google Suite, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), and the ability to use web-based technology
• Excellent data and information management skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Diligent attention to detail and meticulous record-keeping
• Ability to establish priorities, set objectives, and achieve goals
• Ability to work effectively with diverse constituents, including employers, students/alumni, faculty and administration
• Sound professional judgment and a strong sense of ethics
• Ability to communicate complex data in a way that is relevant and accessible to multiple audiences

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's Degree in related fields
• Understanding of career-related technology (i.e. Symplicity, Handshake, etc.)
• Proven ability and experience working in a higher education setting, specifically with a graduate student population
• Ability to demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to further drive program enhancements
• Experience managing and maintaining websites
