Job Responsibilities

The Procurement Specialist II is responsible for strategic sourcing and procurement of goods and services for assigned markets and commodities in accordance with the college’s policies and the SC Consolidated Procurement Code under the general supervision of the Director of Procurement and Risk Management.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

This position requires a high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for required work experience. Preferred candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in a related field plus one (1) year of related work experience; or, an associate degree in a related field plus (3) years of related work experience; or, a high school diploma plus five (5) years related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (CPPB) or Institute for Supply Management APP certification preferred. Ideal candidate will have experience in procurement for physical plant/maintenance in either public or private sector and in South Carolina public sector procurements governed by the South Carolina Consolidated Procurement Code. Must work well under pressure and possess ability to work well with others. Must be able to communicate well with others both orally and in writing. Excellent customer service is essential.
