About This Role:

The JoAnne Gay Dishman School of Nursing at Lamar University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor or Instructor beginning September 1, 2022. Applicants should have an earned PhD or DNP in nursing, an EdD in education with a Masters of Science Nursing (MSN), or a Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN). Faculty of Lamar University are also expected to participate in service opportunities at the school, college, and university levels (e.g. serving as mentors to students, participating in committees). Tenure-Track candidates should have an active research agenda that includes publication of research papers in peer-reviewed conferences and journals and/or submission of research grants and contract proposals to various funding agencies. Finally, candidates should be prepared to teach any combination of courses in the undergraduate or graduate curricula (tenure-track only) both online and face-to-face courses in nursing. These courses may also include practicum courses.

The College of Arts and Sciences include some 220 faculty, 100 staff members and houses approximately 5,000 majors. While providing a majority of the courses included within the university’s Core Curriculum, the College likewise offers hundreds of specialized courses to support its baccalaureate and graduate degree programs.
