The College of Health, Arts, and Sciences at Oregon Tech is seeking applications for an Assistant Professor position in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences (H&SS).

Our new colleague will teach a variety of undergraduate courses in our Bachelors of Science in Applied Psychology program, including research methods and introductory psychology. Other potential courses include social psychology, cognitive psychology, and biopsychology. Online teaching experience is not required, but preferred. Occasional teaching in our Master’s programs is also possible.

Our program has strong relationships with local community partners in the mental and behavioral health field. Thus, the successful candidate will network with community partners on a variety of fronts, including the identification and development of collaborative, sponsored projects that support the applied nature of our program. We are strongly committed to supporting the mental and behavioral health workforce development needs, both in our rural community and across Oregon

In this position, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to support student clubs, activities, and travel with students to regional conferences as they present the results of their applied research projects. Our program is seeking enrollment growth, thus there will be opportunities to engage in program marketing and student recruitment activities.

Service to the department, institution, and community are highly valued at Oregon Tech and expected of all tenure track faculty. Professional development and applied research are also expected of tenure track faculty at Oregon Tech.
Doctorate in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) required. While ABD candidates will be considered, successful degree completion prior to January 1, 2023, is required for reappointment.

  • Experience managing undergraduate and applied research.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Psychology College level teaching experience
