Job Details
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•Conducts presentations with visiting students, parents, and high school counselors regarding admission and financial aid process, policies, and procedures.
•Maintains communication with prospective students from across the country via email, phone, and text message through all stages of the recruitment and admission process.
•Speaks to groups and individual students and meets with school officials to develop partnerships between the University and high schools throughout an assigned geographic region.
•Interviews prospective students and candidates for admission.
•Represents the University Admissions Office at evening college fairs, college nights, and admissions panels.
•Serves as the primary contact and reader of applications for admission for designated applicant pool(s).
•Performs other related duties as assigned.
Candidates must be willing and able to organize and handle all aspects of administration and adhere to the rules and regulations of Hofstra University, the Colonial Athletic Conference, and the NCAA.
Evening and weekend hours may be required in support of special projects and events.
Qualifications:Required:
•Bachelor’s degree.
•Valid driver’s license.
•Strong interpersonal, organizational, administrative and oral and written communication skills.
Preferred:
• One-year admissions experience.
•Familiarity with computerized admissions and financial aid systems, such as Ellucian Banner and Slate.
•Working knowledge of PC-based word processing and spreadsheet programs.Requested Information:
