UCLA Strategic Communications increases awareness, understanding and support of UCLA's vision, mission and accomplishments among its many constituencies. A major focus of this department is the formulation and implementation of strategic communications initiatives, plans and events.

Reporting to the Chief Brand Officer, the Head of Experiential Marketing & Events will be a culturally savvy and entrepreneurial marketing leader with deep experience in developing global experiential marketing strategy, leading special event production, and managing teams/agencies to drive measurable results. They will embrace a combination of data driven decision-making, innovation, problem solving, and flawless execution as they manage priorities across two teams: 1) The Experiential Marketing team, which was recently formed to deliver best-in-class in-person, hybrid, and virtual activations that directly engage audiences to interact with the UCLA brand to create long-lasting impressions that will be remembered; and 2) The Special Events team, which creates events that showcase UCLA's impact and reputation for excellence, while leading with a collaborative approach that sets the standard for events of significance and impact. They will understand promotional strategies to drive attendance across social and integrated media in addition to brand partnerships, specifically how to seamlessly and cost-effectively integrate partners into activations. This senior leader will be the champion for target audiences' and special guests' expectations to ensure UCLA delivers highly engaging, rich and rewarding experiences.

Duties are performed onsite during normal office working hours and the incumbent maintains consistent and punctual attendance. Working hours may include weekends, evenings and holidays and may require light travel.

In 15 of the 16 medical specialty areas examined, UCLA Medical Center ranked in the top 20.

The campus' location in Los Angeles makes excursions to local museums, theaters, or other entertainment venues relatively quick and easy.
