Assistant Director of Student Center/Activities: Student Organization Assistant

The Department of Student Activities is seeking a dynamic, student-centered professional for the Assistant Director of Student Activities: Student Organization Assistant. Reporting to the Director of Student Center & Student Activities, the Assistant Director will provide support and guidance to our almost 100 student organizations and club sports teams on matters related to student events, budget management and travel.

Responsibilities:

Oversees the planning of and develops and implements a tracking and approval process for all student organization travel, PSA and Honorarium process. Assists the Director in the selection, training, and evaluation of the student center student employee responsible for training the leaders, members and advisors of student organizations for travel, PSA and honorarium. Works with Finance and administration to revise all student organizations procedures and manuals and distributes such to all clubs and organizations. Coordinates the annual student activities fair for clubs and organizations. Assists in the implementation of the University's new student and parent orientation programs. Develops and implements training programs for student organizations. Serves as the SGA liaison between the Student Activities Office and the SABO with respect to the support of all SGA student organizations and assists SABO with reconciliation of advances, purchase orders and event registration for student organizations. Maintains the Student Activities Web-page for all aspects of the department including but not limited to student organizations, building operations, CAB, SOAR. Advises the council of clubs and organizations presidents. Monitors the club sports budgets and payroll and is responsible for all financial procedures. Assists in the development of department leadership programs for personal and organizational opportunities. Coordinates all department assessment efforts.

Qualifications:

Two years of experience working with student organizations is required. Decision making skills and the ability to direct the efforts of other individuals are required. A Bachelor's degree is required, Master's preferred.
