Job Details
Illinois Wesleyan University invites nominations and applications for the position of Director of the School of Nursing and Health Sciences. Qualified candidates may be eligible to also be named as the Endowed Chair. The School of Nursing and Health Sciences welcomes qualified candidates with an earned master’s in nursing and a doctorate in nursing or related field. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated leadership record with academic administrative experience. This individual will advance undergraduate theory-based education and is responsible for administering the nursing major, health promotion and fitness management major, and health and public health minors as well as further development of Health Sciences. The Director represents the School within the University, as well as regionally and nationally. Interdisciplinary collaboration within the University and commitment to mentoring faculty in teaching, scholarship, and service is expected. All tenure lines are doctorally prepared.
The Director reports to the Provost.
Illinois Wesleyan is a nationally ranked, small, private liberal arts university with highly selective admission criteria and a tradition of excellence. The School has a 63-year history of producing exceptional thinkers, compassionate professionals and leaders for nursing and global health care. With an approximate enrollment of 200 nursing majors, 60 Health Promotion and Fitness Management majors, and 50 Health and Public Health minors, the School offers individual attention and innovative programming.
An expedited review of applicants will begin July 1, and will continue until an exceptional candidate is found. Ideal start date is January 1, 2023.
