The Senior Manager of Technical Programs will serve as a senior level technical staff member to write grant proposals for infrastructure and major equipment grants. This individual will be familiar with the research of Photonics Center faculty and in that context work to optimize shared resources, including making recommendations for new equipment and equipment repairs/upgrades, as well as facilitate faculty collaborations around major center grant proposals and provide technical program management as needed. This individual will assess the research of new and expanding Business Innovation Center companies to ensure their research aligns with the Photonics Center mission and lab safety requirements. Work with admin and communications staff to help support processes that need technical input. Support additional special projects, as assigned.
The individual will have a PhD and experience in areas of the research and technology that faculty and students are pursuing in the Photonics Center. Ability to organize and multi-task are requirements for success. High energy, excellent written and oral communication skills.
