Grant Funded Position: Yes
Schedule Information: Monday-Friday, some evenings may be required
Hours per Week: 37.5

Work Conditions: Work is primarily indoor and sedentary in nature.
Duties of Position: Serves as a liaison between faculty, ECE students, and other areas of the college to develop and deliver intervention strategies to help with student persistence and completion goals. Support the efforts of the Early Childhood Access Consortium for Equity at Harper College. Provide academic support and tutoring to students, especially in the areas of writing, organization and reading comprehension.
Provides academic support including study skills, test-taking, time management, motivation, concentration, reading strategies, and note-taking.
Supports ECE students to develop into stronger, more confident writers.
Works with ECE faculty to understand course requirements.
Provides support for functions in ECE, including all ECACE (Early Childhood Access Consortium for Equity) functions.
Participates in ongoing cross training with other tutors with the purpose of proving exceptional service and accurate information to students and other Harper College stakeholders regarding Start Smart, Learning Communities, etc.
Tutors students individually and in groups for ECE courses.
Assists students in understanding subject material and encourages successful study practices
Maintains records of students tutored and collaborates with faculty and support specialist to meet grant requirements
Performs related duties as assigned
Educational Requirements: Bachelor's Degree (Early Childhood Education / Education preferred)
Experience Requirements: 1-year minimum Tutoring Experience. Able to work with minimal supervision and within a team-oriented environment. Analysis, troubleshooting and excellent communication skills. Excellent customer relationship skills (communication, setting and meeting expectations, listening, etc.).
