INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ADMINISTRATOR/ANALYST 3                                  Position 20019121 – MR13

 

The University of Tennessee’s Office of Information Technology (OIT) seeks to hire a Microsoft Windows administrator.

 

This position works with various organizations within OIT to support Microsoft technologies.  Advanced Microsoft Windows systems administration experience is necessary to perform the duties assigned to this position.  The candidate will install, configure, maintain and perform testing of Microsoft operating systems, related utilities, applications, and hardware.  The candidate is responsible for troubleshooting server-based hardware, operating system, and software problems.  Monitors systems activities and initiates configuration changes to optimize performance.  Performs system analysis to ensure best practices for security and service.  Develops procedures for routine administration, including design, patching, deploying software, implementing changes, security plans, and Microsoft Windows server configuration tuning.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE MANAGING:

    Microsoft Windows Server environment.Active Directory, Group Policy Management, and Azure Active Directory.Microsoft 365.VMware.DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, SNMP, SMTP, Routing, Switching, Firewall, and other networking technologies.License servers for varied applications.Managing print servers.Backups and disaster recovery.Application installation and troubleshooting. Direct customer interaction.Defining solution requirements for service level agreements (SLA).Installing, supporting, and troubleshooting third-party applications with customers
Documentation.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Bachelor’s degree or eight years of equivalent experience in information technology working as a systems administrator.  Additionally, the successful candidate must have a minimum of five years of experience concentrated in Microsoft Windows system administration.
 

JOB SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Required:

    Advanced experience with Microsoft Windows administration.Advanced experience with Active Directory and Group Policy management.Advanced PowerShell scripting skills.Advanced understanding of networking concepts, including DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP protocol.Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate, both written and orally.Excellent organizational and planning skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
 

PREFERRED:

    Experience with Fortinet networking equipment.Experience with Microsoft Endpoint Manager.Experience with Hyland OnBase.
