Position X2211 Business Manager Location The University of Tennessee, Institute of Agriculture, Extension, 4-H Youth Development Department, Knoxville TN Effective Date July 1, 2022. Screening of applicants’ credentials will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. Salary and BenefitsSalary is commensurate with training and experience. Benefits include group hospitalization and life insurance, State Employees Retirement; Worker’s Compensation; sick and annual leave; numerous University of Tennessee and state benefit programs, including liberal time off for holidays and longevity pay after three years of service, reimbursement for official travel.
Qualifications
Job Description Manages and administers all financial, budget, and other administrative functions, including HR for Director and State 4-H Program Leader. Assures policy, procedure and compliance in financial, HR, grant and contract operations. Manages and oversees all financial business operations in the unit. Provides accounting and financial control by maintaining financial records, budget analysis and forecasting and managing expenditures and accounts payable for all departmental accounts.Provides budgeting, financial and administrative functions and donor tracking information for the Executive Director and Treasurer of the Tennessee 4-H Foundation, Inc.Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related area is required. Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related area is preferred. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)Three (3) years of progressive experience (preferably in a university setting) that includes budget administration, human resources, and grant/contract management, knowledge of standard and non-profit accounting principles. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively (both written and oral) with executives, faculty, vendors, and staff. Ability to serve as a liaison and represent 4-H and the 4-H Foundation both internally and externally; ability to train, educate and assist departmental financial personnel; superior customer service, interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects to establish priorities to meet deadlines. Excellent attention to detail and skills to evaluate processes and ensure accurate, timely reporting. Ability to maintain confidentiality on financial and personnel matters. Knowledge of and proficiency using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and QuickBooks for non-profits. ANDI (donor tracking system), Cayuse, and IRIS experience is preferred.
