 Irrigation Technician IDuties/Responsibilities

The Facilities Services Department is responsible for the maintenance and operations of all campus facilities, which includes buildings, grounds, and utility systems. The Landscape Irrigation Tech I preforms preventative maintenance and repairs of landscape irrigation systems throughout campus.

    Perform preventative maintenance on all irrigation systems.Perform emergency repairs to irrigation systems.Seasonal start-up/ winterization
Help install new irrigation systems.

Qualifications
    Minimum/Required Qualifications/Experience
  • Valid Tennessee Driver’s License
  • High School Degree or equivalent2+ years’ experienceIrrigation maintenance experience preferred.The ability to learn and maintain all irrigation systems.Applicant must be in good physical health, able to perform strenuous activities and able to lift up to 50 pounds.The ability to perform hard physical work for long periods in all types of weatherApplicant must be able to read and follow instructions, have a positive attitude, interact well with others in a team environment and follow the departmental attendance policy.Designated personnel for emergencies – This position is required to report to work to ensure operation of essential campus functions during an emergency, or when the University has suspended or delayed operations
