At a Glance! Lower Columbia College is accepting applications for multiple Catering Team Members. This position is an “on call” catering position and will be used based on the Fork & Flame catering needs on campus. This position is categorized as an Food Service Worker, under State of Washington Class Specification. This is a 12 month position working no more than 19 hours per week.

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists the Fork & Flame kitchen and service staff as needed to maintain the highest level of food quality, presentation, and timing to optimize guests dining experience
  • Performing basic food preparation tasks, which include washing, peeling, and cutting fruit and vegetables, seasoning and slicing meats, and preparing sauces and salads
  • Sets up and breaks down buffet stations for catering events on campus as per the manager on duty
  • Loads and unloads plates, silverware, and other service equipment
  • Serves courses, clears dishware, and ensures that guests dining needs are taken care of
  • Keeps serving stations restocked throughout the event
  • Cleans large and small trays and tray stands to be ready for service
  • Maintains guest tables and serving stations according to client specifications and procedures
  • Accomplishes all job duties while adhering to all safety guidelines and practices throughout the shift
  • Answering guests’ catering-related questions during events and addressing all complaints
  • Reports any unsafe condition, unsafe act, accidents and/or injuries to the manager on duty
  • Completes closing duties at the end of each event
  • Perform other duties as assigned
